Trenton, NJ - In separate transactions today, forward Kory Nagy has been reassigned by New Jersey from Albany (AHL) to Trenton, goalie Dave Caruso and defenseman Andy Thomas have been returned on loan to Trenton by Albany, and goalie Shane Connelly has been traded by Trenton to Utah (ECHL) for future considerations. The announcements were made by Albany and Trenton General Manager Chris Lamoriello.
Caruso, 28, appeared in 10 games during his most recent stint with Albany, which included his first AHL shutout on February 15 at Charlotte. The 6-1, 205-lb. goaltender has played in 46 games with the Devils' AHL affiliates since the 2007-08 season, including 14 this year. With Trenton, Caruso has 52 victories in 97 appearances over the last four seasons, including a 5-8-2 record in 16 games in 2010-11. Caruso spent the 2006-07 season with Gwinnett (ECHL) and Chicago (AHL) after four collegiate seasons at Ohio State (CCHA), winning a CCHA Championship in 2004. The Roswell, GA native was born June 18, 1982.

In 2010-11, the 5-11, 195-lb. forward has one assist in 13 games with Albany and 20 points in 42 contests for Trenton. Born October 12, 1989 in London, ON, Nagy was New Jersey's fifth round choice in the 2008 NHL Entry Draft. He spent four seasons with the Oshawa Generals (OHL) from 2005 to 2009, compiling 22 goals and 56 assists.
Thomas, 25, returns to Trenton after a 13-game stint with Albany. In 35 games for Trenton earlier this season, the 6-2, 220-lb. defenseman collected two goals and four assists. Thomas is in his second year in the Devils organization and has played in a total of 141 games, 15 in the AHL and 106 in the ECHL, leading Trenton with a plus-16 in 2009-10. He spent the 2008-09 season with Bakersfield (ECHL) and Iowa (AHL). Born November 14, 1985 in Bow, NH, Thomas played four seasons at the University of Denver (WCHA) from 2004 to 2008, winning the NCAA Championship in 2005.
