Condors can't solve Spratt, lose 4-0 to Wranglers

BAKERSFIELD, CALIF - The Bakersfield Condors (26-16-4-1, 57 points) dropped a 4-0 decision to the Las Vegas Wranglers (21-23-3-2, 47 points) in front of 6,333 fans at Rabobank Arena. G Jimmy Spratt, playing in his first game with Wranglers, earned the shutout, stopping all 31 shots he faced.

The first period began on the defensive side, with neither team generating much offense. The Wranglers grabbed a 1-0 lead on F Greg Collins' goal at 8:42 of the first period. Las Vegas went up 2-0 on a tally by Ned Lukacevic with 1:30 remaining in the opening period. RW Erick Lizon participated in a spirited fight against F Kyle Hagel early in the period. Shots were 9-5 in favor of Las Vegas after 20 minutes.

In the second period, the Wranglers increased their lead to 3-0 on F Jerry Pollastrone's first professional goal with 1:51 to play in the second period. Lizon dropped the gloves for the second time in the game with a short bout against LW Mick Lawrence late in the middle frame.

The Condors mustered some offensive opportunities in the third period, but Spratt maintained his ground, stopping all 11 shots in the period. Las Vegas ended the game with an empty-net goal by C Adam Miller.
