Bakersfield Condors News Release
Bakersfield, Calif. - Guy Dupuis scored the go- ahead goal early in the third period, in his 1,000th career game, to lift the Bakersfield Condors to a 3-1 win over the Alaska Aces in front of 6,811 fans at the Rabobank Arena on Friday night. The win put the Condors back into a first place tie with the Aces in the West Division.
Alaska took the early lead with rookie Mike Clarke's first career goal at 6:28, but it was Bakersfield that had the lead in shots 17-8 through 20 minutes. Early in the second, Lars-Peder Nagel tied the game on a close play ruled a goal by the goal judge, and confirmed by the referee after a brief conference. The game remained tied heading into the third stanza.
Dupuis struck early in the third. Skating in to the right circle, his slap shot snuck under G Peter Aubry for his ninth of the season less than three minutes into the third. Connor James added insurance with a power play goal midway through the third to ice the win.
