Comeback Falls Short Against Bossier

WICHITA, KS- The Wichita Thunder dropped a 2-1 decision to the Bossier-Shreveport Mudbugs at the Kansas Coliseum on Saturday night. Tim Boron took the tough loss, saving 33 of 35 shots. With Wichita trailing 2-0, Scott Rozendal tipped in a power play goal from Bryan Nathe's shot from the point to cut the lead to 2-1. After Bossier took a penalty with less than two minutes left, Wichita managed a six on four advantage with an empty net, but could not find the game-tying goal.

Mudbugs' forward Brett Smith scored a goal and an assist, while Bugs' goaltender Ryan Mior saved 17 of 18 for the win.

The Thunder dropped to 2-7-1 at the Coliseum this year. The 18 shots were the fewest by the Thunder this season.

Wichita is back in action on Tuesday when they head to the Ford Center to take on the Oklahoma City Blazers. Opening faceoff is scheduled for 7:10 p.m. Coverage can be found at www.wichitathunder.com
