Hudson Valley Renegades News Release
On Wednesday, the Hudson Valley Renegades took part in MiLB's Copa Night as they donned a new name, The Fenómenos Enmascarados del Valle de Hudson, and jerseys to celebrate Latin and Hispanic culture versus the Wilmington Blue Rocks.
The fighting spirit of the "Lucha Libre" culture that the Gades portrayed on their uniforms manifested itself in a dramatic 9-8 come-from-behind win in 11 innings.
Down by five heading into their last at-bat, the team clawed their way back, capped off by an Anthony Seigler two-run double to win the game.
On the mound, RHP Shawn Semple looked like his same old self as he threw another gem for the Renegades. Limiting the Delaware team to two hits through six innings, Semple gave up only one run while striking out six and walking two. Semple's efforts were notable enough to earn him the title of Player of the Game.
Ezequiel Duran brought some pop in this one, hitting a moonball home run in the sixth inning for his seventh long-ball of the year. Seigler joined in on the extra-base hit fun with two doubles, as he now has three in the past two days.
For Wilmington, they filled up the hit column well, finishing with nine hits and three doubles. OF Gage Canning had two hits in the game including a double and an RBI.
Charlie Ruegger (3-4) earned the win on the night for Hudson Valley while LHP Chris Vann (2-1) was handed the loss.
The two teams are back at it on Thursday night at 7:05.
Per the State of New York, the Renegades are now open at 100% capacity. Tickets continue to be a tremendous value starting as low as $6. Visit HVRenegades.com for ticket information and so much more.
