Columbus Recalls Center Tomas Kana

Syracuse, NY (March 29, 2010) - The Syracuse Crunch announced today that the Columbus Blue Jackets have recalled center Tomas Kana.

Kana, 22, has appeared in 49 games with the Crunch this season, tallying 28 points (15g, 13a) and 45 penalty minutes. His 15 goals rank third on the club, while his plus-2 rating ranks second on the team and first among active players. In addition, Kana skated in 11 games with Alaska (ECHL) earlier this season, registering six assists and 10 penalty minutes.

A native of Opava, Czech Republic, Kana was originally selected by St. Louis in the second round, 31st overall, in the 2006 NHL Entry Draft. He was acquired by Columbus along with Brendan Bell from St. Louis in exchange Pascal Pelletier on December 8, 2009.
