Columbus Recalls Alexandre Picard, Crunch Release Mathieau Beaudoin

Syracuse, NY (March 20, 2008) - The Syracuse Crunch announced today that the Columbus Blue Jackets have recalled left wing Alexandre Picard. In addition, the Crunch have released right wing Mathieu Beaudoin from his professional try-out contract.

Picard, 22, has appeared in 47 games for the Crunch this season, tallying 7 goals, 11 assists and 114 penalty minutes. Since 2005-06, Picard has appeared in 40 games with Columbus, notching 1 assist and 20 penalty minutes. A native of Les Saules, Quebec, Picard was drafted by Columbus in the first round, eighth overall, in the 2004 NHL Entry Draft.

Beaudoin, 23, has appeared in 57 games for Dayton (ECHL) this season, tallying 36 goals, 28 assists and 42 penalty minutes. He has also appeared in one game with Las Vegas (ECHL) this season, registering an assist. In addition, he has appeared in three games with Iowa and one game with Rochester this season.
