Admirals Resume Playoff Hunt Friday
March 20, 2008 - American Hockey League (AHL)
Milwaukee Admirals News Release
Milwaukee, WI- With less than four weeks remaining in the regular season, the Milwaukee Admirals are embroiled in a battle for a playoff spot and the team will resume their hunt for the post-season on Friday, March 21st when they play host to the Iowa Stars at 7:00 pm at the Bradley Center.
The Admirals are currently in fourth place in the AHL's West Division with 79 points and the first four teams in the division will qualify for the playoffs. Milwaukee leads fifth place Houston by just four points and close behind them are the Peoria Rivermen (74 points) and Quad City (73). However, the Admirals are just three points behind San Antonio and Rockford who are tied for second place in the division with 82 points.
Plus, because of the AHL's cross-over rule, if the fifth place team in the West finishes with more points than the fourth place team in the North, that team would cross over and play in the post-season in the North Division.
The first 3,500 fans to the game on Friday night will get a pair of Admirals Boxer Shorts, courtesy of Jockey. In addition, local baned Speakeasy will perform in the east atrium before and after the game and also during the intermissions.
Following Friday's fray, the Admirals will begin a home-and-home series with the IceHogs on Saturday night in Rockford. After taking Easter Sunday off, the two teams will do battle at the Bradley Center on Monday night at 7:00 pm at the BC. Monday's game is a special Foley and Lardner Family Night where fans can get four tickets, four hot dogs, and four sodas for just $40. Those packages must be purchased by noon on Monday.
For tickets fans can call Ticketmaster at (414) 276-4545 or log on to www.ticketmaster.com. Groups of ten or more can call the Admirals office at (414) 227-0550.
