Blackhawks' Sopel To Appear Tonight At Clock Tower

Rockford, Ill.- Tonight the Rockford IceHogs will host an "Evening With The Blackhawks" at the Clock Tower Resort and Conference Center. The event will run from 6-8 p.m. and is free and open to the public.

Chicago Blackhawks officials that are expected to attend include Team President John McDonough, General Manager Dale Tallon, IceHogs General Manager of Hockey Operations Al MacIsaac, IceHogs Head Coach Mike Haviland and Assistant Coach Ted Dent. The staff will all be on hand to discuss the present and future of the Blackhawks and IceHogs.

Also expected to appear tonight is Blackhawks defenseman Brent Sopel and team mascot Tommy Hawk. All appearances for tonight's event are subject to change.

Some of the topics that will be discussed include the changes made within the Blackhawks organization over the past five months, what's on tap for the 2008-09 season and info on upcoming Blackhawks games and events. Time permitting, fans will have an opportunity to ask questions in an open forum with the Blackhawks brass.

Rockford is currently skating in its first season in the AHL and as the top affiliate of the Blackhawks. During the 2007-08 campaign, 17 different IceHogs skaters have been recalled to Chicago.
