Colton Dach & Marek Schneider Make Pre-Season Debuts
August 31, 2018 - Western Hockey League (WHL)
Saskatoon Blades News Release
Colton Dach and Marek Schneider each found the score sheet with an assist in their WHL pre-season debuts.
Dach, the Blades 1st round selection in the 2018 bantam draft, played on a line alongside his older brother Kirby for the first time in his life and made the most of the opportunity.
Meanwhile, Marek Schneider, who was the Blades 2nd pick in 2018, made his debut in his hometown in front of friends and family and picked up an assist in the Blades 5-3 win over the Raiders. Schneider was also named 3rd star of the game.
Marek's older brother Braden plays for the Brandon Wheat Kings and played with Kirby Dach on Team Canada at the Hlinka-Gretzky Cup in August winning gold. Both Marek and Colton sought advice from their older siblings prior to their WHL pre-season debut which appeared to ease the nerves.
The Blades are back in action this afternoon in Regina at 3:00pm against the Moose Jaw Warriors. Follow the Blades on twitter or download the mobile app for live updates.
