Utah Grizzlies News Release

PRINCETON, N.J. - The ECHL announced today that Colin Vock of the Utah Grizzlies is the Sher-Wood Hockey Player of the Week for January 28-February 3.

Vock scored six of Utah's eight goals last week, and was a plus-3, helping the Grizzlies to a 1-0-0-1 record in a pair of games at league-leading Ontario; improving them to 3-1-0-1 on their current seven-game road trip.

The 27-year-old scored three goals, including two on the power play, in the Grizzlies 6-5 shootout loss on Friday as he helped spur Utah's comeback after they were down 5-2 late in the second period. He added another hat trick in Utah's 3-0 win on Saturday to end Ontario's nine-game winning streak.

The Grizzlies become the first ECHL team to have three players named "Player of the Week" this season. Riley Armstrong (October 12-14) and Brad Mills (November 26-December 2) were previously honored.

Vock will look to become just the fifth player in ECHL history, and the first since Steve Gibson in 1997, to score three goals in three consecutive games when Utah visits Idaho on Wednesday.

A native of Detroit, Michigan, Vock has tallied 31 points (17g-14a) in 40 games this season, and leads the Grizzlies with 17 goals and a +13 rating. He has 11 goals and nine assists for 20 points in Utah's last 15 games.

On behalf of Colin Vock, a case of pucks will be donated to a Utah youth hockey organization by Sher-Wood Hockey, the exclusive puck supplier of the ECHL. Since beginning its sponsorship of the award in 2000-01, Sher-Wood Hockey has donated more than 27,000 pucks to youth hockey organizations in ECHL cities.

Utah completes their seven-game road trip Wednesday and Friday in Idaho with face-offs at 7:10 p.m. each night.

The Grizzlies are back home Friday, February 9 at 7 p.m. and Sunday, February 10 at 4 p.m. to host Idaho.
