
Coley Hurls Power past Rome 4-3

(Rome, GA - June 7, 2015) - The West Virginia Power defeated the Rome Braves 4-3 in the series finale at State Mutual Stadium in Georgia. Austin Coley was sharp with his team-best fifth quality start of the year, which led the Power to a series split against the Braves.
Rome scored the first run of the game for the third consecutive game. After a leadoff triple by Joseph Daris, he scored a pitch later on an Omar Obregon sacrifice fly.
Trailing 1-0, the Power tied the game and took the lead in the fourth. Pablo Reyes drew a leadoff walk then went first-to-third on a Connor Joe bunt single. Joe advanced to second when nobody covered second. With two men in scoring position, Michael Suchy bounced a ball to the right side of the infield, scoring Reyes. With one out and a runner on third, Jerrick Suiter hit a single to center to score Joe and give West Virginia
Leading 2-1, Coley surrendered the tying run in the bottom of the fourth. Jordan Edgerton hit his second home run in as many days to make it a 2-2 game.
The Power reclaimed the lead in the fifth and added onto their lead in the sixth. Francisco Diaz drew a walk and advanced to second on a walk to Tyler Filliben. Following a fielder's choice which advanced Diaz to third, Reyes hit a sacrifice fly to left it make it 3-2. In the seventh, Chase Simpson hit a single up the middle and later scored on a two-out single by Elvis Escobar.
With West Virginia leading 4-2, Rome came back to within one in the seventh. Tanner Krietemeier clubbed a first-pitch home run to right off Jose Regalado. It was the first home run this season for Krietemeier.
Coley (7-4) earned the victory with his team-best fifth quality start of the season while Oriel Caicedo (2-1) suffered the loss in relief. Nick Neumann earned his team-best ninth save of the season.
West Virginia (34-23) finished the series against Rome (27-30) with a series split. Following an off day on Monday, the Power begin action against the Savannah Sand Gnats at Appalachian Power Park. RHP Yeudy Garcia (4-1, 1.91) will start for the Power and he will be opposed by RHP Casey Meisner (5-1, 1.88) First pitch is scheduled for 7:05 p.m. while pregame on Charleston's ESPN Radio 104.5 FM and 1490 AM, www.wvpower.com, and the TuneIn radio app is slated for 6:45 p.m.
When West Virginia returns home on Tuesday they will welcome in the Savannah Sand Gnats for three games followed by the Augusta Greenjackets for four games. Highlighting the next homestand will be Chuck's Birthday on Saturday, June 13 with a headphone giveaway to the first 1,000 fans presented by Renaissance Dental and 98.7 The Beat. That same night will also feature an appearance by the popular ZOOperstars. The homestand kicks off with a Tailgate Tuesday presented by Tailgate 107.3 with happy hour specials from 6 p.m. to the first pitch. Fans can get $2 16 oz. fountain drinks and $2 16 oz. draft specials.
