Clinton LumberKings News Release

Clinton, IA - The Texas Rangers announced Thursday that Clinton LumberKings left-hander Broc Coffman has been promoted to high-A affiliate Bakersfield to replace right-hander Eric Hurley, who was sent to the disabled list with a sprain of his right wrist.

Coffman had been on the disabled list with the LumberKings since May 5th after suffering shoulder tendonitis. He appeared in four games with Clinton, including one start, going 3-1 with a team-leading 0.47 ERA.

Hurley, who pitched for the LumberKings last season, was 3-2 with a 2.82 ERA in nine starts with the Blaze before suffering the sprain.

In other roster moves, lefthander Michael Kirkman, who has been on the disabled list with a strained left hamstring since May 10th, has been sent down to Arizona to rehab.

The moves still leave the LumberKings with 24 on the active roster, including 12 pitchers.
