Clippers Strike Down Vipers in Double-OT
January 16, 2022 - NBA G League (G League)
Ontario Clippers News Release
ONTARIO, Calif. - The Agua Caliente Clippers (3-0) win a double-overtime thriller against the Rio Grande Valley Vipers (1-2), 117-115, on Saturday night to remain undefeated to open the regular season.
Three Clippers scored at least 20 points on the night, led by Keaton Wallace's game-high 29 points on 11-for-20 shooting from the field, including five three pointers.
Moses Wright (20 points) and Nate Darling (22 points) round out the group. Wright added 10 rebounds for his sixth straight double-double.
Trevelin Queen led the Vipers with 28 points, five rebounds and nine assists.
The nail-biter ended with a Viper turnover that led to a Keon Johnson fast-break layup to put the Clippers up four in the dying seconds. Queen's three pointer brought the Vipers to within one point but with one second remaining, it was too little too late.
The final box score can be found HERE.
Next up, the Clippers look to keep rolling as they host the Iowa Wolves on Tuesday, January 18th. Tip-off is at 7 p.m. PT inside the Toyota Arena in Ontario, Calif.
