Windy City Bulls Come up Short against Herd

The Windy City Bulls, presented by BMO, the NBA G League affiliate of the Chicago Bulls, fell to the Wisconsin Herd 113-109 Sunday night at NOW Arena. Seven different Windy City players scored in double figures, led by 19 points off the bench for Daniel Oturu.
It was a back-and-forth game all night, with 13 lead changes and seven ties. The Bulls and Herd were knotted up at 27 after the opening period, but the Bulls' shot 61.9% from the field in the second quarter to give Windy City a 60-57 lead at halftime. Windy City's Troy Baxter Jr. led all scorers with 13 points at the break.
Ethan Thompson came out on fire in the second half, scoring 11 points in the period to keep Windy City within striking distance after a strong Wisconsin quarter. Heading into the final 12 minutes, Wisconsin held a 91-84 advantage.
The Herd took an 11-point lead with 10:21 left to play in the game, but Windy City immediately responded with a 10-0 run to cut the deficit to a single point. The Bulls stayed within a single possession of the Herd for most of the fourth quarter but weren't able to get over the hump and take a lead of their own, losing to Wisconsin by four.
Thompson and Baxter Jr. ended the game with 17 and 15 points, respectively. Bryce Alford scored 14 points and dished out seven assists in his first start of the season. Kerwin Roach II followed up a 25-point showing in the Bulls' last game with 11 points and seven assists. Perrion Callandret and Scottie Lindsey each came off the bench to score 11 and 10 points, respectively.
Milwaukee Bucks Two-Way forward Sandro Mamukelashvili led the Herd with 24 points and 10 rebounds. Rayjon Tucker and Jemerrio Jones also notched double-doubles for the Herd. Tucker put up 13 points and 13 rebounds, while Jones ended with 16 points and 10 boards.
With the loss, Windy City sits at 1-3 in the regular season, while Wisconsin improves to 2-2.
