GREENSBORO, NC - Colin Selby struck out 10 over 6.1 innings of work and Mason Martin hit his 16th home run of the season as Greensboro topped the BlueClaws 7-3 on Saturday night at First National Bank Field.

The Grasshoppers (36-18) have taken two of the first three this series and eight of nine overall this season from the BlueClaws (18-36).

Greensboro opened the scoring in the first on an RBI double from Fabricio Macias. He brought home Ji-Hwan Bae who led off the inning with a walk. Pat Dorrian doubled to start the third and was driven home by a Mason Martin RBI single giving Martin his league-best 54th RBI of the season.

The Hoppers added three more in the fourth. An RBI single from Justin Harrer made it 3-0 and after Ismael Cabrera relieved Jhordany Mezquita, Jack Herman hit a two-run triple for a 5-0 lead.

Mezquita (2-4) gave up five runs and walked four over 3.1 innings of work. Cabrera did not allow a run in 1.2 innings of relief for the BlueClaws.

The BlueClaws got back in the game in the seventh on a three-run home run by Malvin Matos to slice the lead to 5-3. It was Matos' third home run of the season and first since May 6th.

The home run by Matos was the last pitch thrown by Colin Selby (2-0), who fanned 10 over 6.1 innings of work.

Greensboro added two runs in the bottom of the eighth off Rafi Gonell on Mason Martin's 16th home run of the year and an RBI single from Grant Koch. Martin, who has hit four home runs against the BlueClaws this season, broke a tie with Hickory's Sam Huff for the league lead.

Martin and Koch had two hits apiece for the Grasshoppers in the win.

Jonathan Guzman singled in his second at bat for the BlueClaws and has hit safely in 13 straight games. The teams finish their series on Sunday at 2:00 pm. RHP Francisco Morales (0-3) starts for Lakewood opposite RHP Alex Manasa (6-0).
