Cincinnati Mighty Ducks announce roster moves

CINCINNATI, Ohio -- The Cincinnati Mighty Ducks were assigned left wings Chris Kunitz, Casey Hankinson, Cam Severson and defenseman Chris Armstrong by the NHL Mighty Ducks of Anaheim on Thursday.

Kunitz, 24, is scheduled to represent Cincinnati at the AHL All-Star Game in Grand Rapids, Michigan February 9. The 5-foot-11, 198-pound first-year pro had one assist in 10 games with Anaheim. He has played in 38 games with Cincinnati this season, recording 15 goals and 16 assists. A native of Regina, Saskatchewan, Kunitz currently leads Cincinnati in goals and points, and was leading AHL rookies in scoring prior to his recall January 16 to Anaheim.

Hankinson, 27, appeared in four games with Anaheim, going scoreless. The 6-foot-1, 187-pounder has played in 45 games with Cincinnati this season, recording 10 goals and 18 assists with 49 penalty minutes and a plus-10 rating. A native of Edina, Minnesota, Hankinson currently leads Cincinnati with 142 shots on net.

Armstrong, 28, appeared in four games with Anaheim, earning his first career NHL point with an assist February 2 at Edmonton. The 6-foot, 198-pound native of Regina, Saskatchewan has six goals and 24 assists in 44 games with Cincinnati this season, tying for the league-lead among defensemen in assists.

Severson, 26, appeared in nine games with Anaheim, going scoreless with 21 penalty minutes. The 6-foot-2, 220-pound native of Norquay, Saskatchewan has seven goals and five assists with a team-leading 141 penalty minutes in 36 games with Cincinnati this season.
