Cincinnati Mighty Ducks Announce Roster Moves

CINCINNATI, Ohio - Cincinnati Mighty Ducks defenseman Aris Brimanis and goaltender Gregg Naumenko were recalled by the NHL Mighty Ducks of Anaheim on Thursday.

Brimanis, 30, has two goals and nine assists with 44 penalty minutes in 72 games with Cincinnati this season. He has appeared in one game with Anaheim, going scoreless.

Naumenko, 25, has registered a 2-4-0 record with a 2.47 goals-against average and .928 save percentage in seven games with Cincinnati this season. He has combined for a 17-8-7 record with a 2.98 goals-against average and .901 save pecentage in 33 games this season between Augusta and Dayton in the East Coast Hockey League.

Goaltender Joey MacDonald was signed to a pro tryout contract to replace Naumenko on the Cincinnati roster.

MacDonald, 21, went 12-15-7 with a 2.88 goals-against average and .922 save percentage in 38 games with Toledo of the ECHL this season.

In another roster move Thursday, the Detroit Red Wings assigned 20-year-old center Tomas Kopecky to Cincinnati.

Kopecky, a second-round pick by Detroit in 2000, had 34 goals, 42 assists and 94 penalty minutes in 60 games with Lethbridge of the Western Hockey League this season. He appeared in one game with Cincinnati last season, going scoreless.
