Flames Sign Steve Gallace, Harney Released From PTO

Saint John, NB - The Saint John Flames announced today that they have signed 23 year-old defenceman Steve Gallace (Gul-AH-chee) to a 25-game Professional Tryout Agreement

The 6'1", 210 lb native of London, Ontario just completed his third season with the Saint Mary's University Huskies hockey team. In 27 games with the Huskies this season he recorded 14 goals and 18 assists for 32 points and 46 penalty minutes. Gallace made his professional debut on March 29 with the American Hockey League's Providence Bruins.

Gallace is expected to be available for the Flames game on Friday, April 5, when Saint John hosts the Lowell Lock Monsters at 7:30 p.m.

The Flames also announced today that Justin Harney has been released from his professional tryout agreement and will rejoin the Charlotte Checkers of the East Coast Hockey League for their first round playoff match-up against the Atlantic City Boardwalk Bullies.

The Saint John Flames are the primary development organization of the National Hockey League's Calgary Flames and have been a member of the AHL since 1993.
