Connecticut Whale News Release
Hartford, April 4, 2002 - Hartford Wolf Pack General Manager Al Coates announced today that the Wolf Pack's fifth annual "Beating the Odds" Casino Night, presented with the generous support of Foxwoods Resort Casino March 20 at the Hartford Civic Center, generated $70,000 for the Children's Cancer Fund at Connecticut Children's Medical Center (CCMC).
"We are extremely proud to make this donation," Coates said. "This is a cause that is near-and-dear to all of our hearts. We owe a great debt of gratitude to Foxwoods, to Mary Lynn Gorman here in our office, the players' wives and girlfriends, the Connecticut Children's Medical Center Foundation Committee and volunteers, and to all the other hard-working individuals who spent so many hours to make this night happen. The event was a great success, and we thank all of those generous fans and supporters who came out to join us in this most-important effort."

Additional supporters included CIGNA HealthCare, WTIC-AM & FM, NBC-30, Creative Graphic Services, Lithographics, Kinko's, Buettner Florist, Eastern Bag & Paper, DATTCO and Woodland Moving and Warehouse.
