Flames Sign John Jarvis and Jason Sands

Saint John, NB - The Saint John Flames announced today that they have signed 29 year-old centre John Jarvis and 25 year-old centre Jason Sands to Professional Tryout Agreements.

Jarvis, a 6'0", 190 lb native of Saint John, spent the season with the River Valley Rock of the Southern New Brunswick Senior 'A' Hockey League recording 53 points (11 goals, 42 assists) in 31 regular season games and was named the League's regular season MVP. Jarvis appeared in one American Hockey League regular season game with the Flames during the 1999/00 season.

Sands, a 5'9", 180 lb native of Kingston, Ontario split this season with the Arkansas RiverBlades of the East Coast Hockey League and Saint Thomas University of the CIAU. Sands recorded 14 points (3 goals, 11 assists) and 6 penalty minutes in 22 games with Arkansas and 36 points (8 goals, 28 assists) and 62 penalty minutes in 27 games with St. Thomas.

Sands and Jarvis are expected to be available for the Flames game on Friday, April 5, when Saint John hosts the Lowell Lock Monsters at 7:30 p.m.
