Chucks Clinch Playoff Berth with South Division Second Half Title

WAUSAU - With their victory last night and losses by the Madison Mallards and the Eau Claire Express, the Wisconsin Woodchucks clinched their second playoff berth in the last three years by winning the Northwoods League South Division second half championship.

The Woodchucks will face the La Crosse Loggers in the first round of the Northwoods League playoffs, which will start Monday, August 13th. If the Woodchucks end up with a better overall record than La Crosse, Monday's game will be played at Copeland Park in La Crosse with Tuesday's game played at Athletic Park. If the Loggers finish with a better overall record, Monday's game will be played at Athletic Park. All games played at Athletic Park will start at 6:35 with the gates opening at 5:35.

The Woodchucks are currently rated the third best summer collegiate baseball team in the entire nation by PerfectGame.org, including being the top-ranked team in the Northwoods League. The complete standings can be found here: http://www.perfectgame.org/SummerCollegiate/Rankings.aspx?R=17.
