Chiodo Dealt to Ottawa

January 9, 2019 - Ontario Hockey League (OHL) - Barrie Colts News Release

Barrie, ON - Barrie Colts General Manager & Head Scout Jason Ford announced today that they have completed a trade with the Ottawa 67's

The Barrie Colts have sent forward Lucas Chiodo to the Ottawa 67's in return for a 3rdround pick in 2021 (SSM) and a 2ndround pick in 2024 (KGN), along with the rights to forward Shaw Boomhower.

Chiodo, a local boy grew up playing hockey in Barrie and had spent his entire career with the Colts up until this point. Originally a 15thround pick of the organization he flourished as a player and became one of the top scorers on the team the last couple of seasons. The Churchill, ON native tallied 50 points in 39 games this season and is joining a 67's club that is atop the Eastern Conference Standings.

"The Barrie Colts would like to thank Lucas for his contributions to the hockey club and the community over the years. We would like to wish him the best of luck as he finishes his overage season with the Ottawa 67's" said Barrie Colts General Manager, Jason Ford."

The Colts and 67's will square off against each other next on February 28thwhen the 67's make a trip to the Barrie Molson Centre for the final time this season.

Barrie is back in action tomorrow night as they play host to the Sudbury Wolves at 7:30pm.
