Evansville Otters News Release

The Ohio Valley Redcoats took advantage of a defensive miscue by the Evansville Otters in the third inning as the Redcoats beat the Otters 4-1.

After the Redcoats scored a run in the top of the second inning, Mike Spry answered back with a homerun off of Ryan Childs to make it 1-1.

Ohio Valley came back with three unearned runs in the third inning to take a 4-1 lead. It was all Childs would need as he only allowed two runners to reach second the rest of the game.

Childs (5-8) went the full nine innings, scattering 10 hits. He walked one and struck out four. Cody Blackard (6-4) also pitched well, allowing seven hits over 6.1 innings allowing four runs, only one of which was earned, walking three and striking out two.

The final game of the series is on Saturday. It is Disney Night with the Otters presented by Haynie Travel. Brian Kroll (5-4) will start for Evansville against Luke Adkins (7-6) for Ohio Valley. Game time is 7:05 p.m.
