RiverHawks trade for outfielder; McCoy on DL

ROCKFORD, Ill. - The Rockford RiverHawks have added an outfielder to replace an injured one.

The RiverHawks acquired rookie Jake Dickinson from the Jackson Senators of the Central League in exchange for a player to be named later. In addition, Jerome McCoy was placed on the disabled list because of a hamstring injury.

Dickinson, a true rookie from Arkansas Tech, hit .299 with three home runs and 26 RBI in 79 games split among the three outfield spots. He had two five-game hitting streaks this month for the Senators.

The RiverHawks acquired McCoy in a five-player trade with Windy City on July 17. McCoy hit .181 in 25 games after the trade. For the season, he hit .246 with 18 RBI and 29 steals.

The RiverHawks are the defending champions of the Frontier League, a 12-team independent professional baseball league in its 13th season. All games are broadcasted live on WRHL-FM, 102.3 - the Hub.
