Windy City ThunderBolts News Release
Kalamazoo, MI - Kalamazoo plated a pair of runs in the 1st and the 4th and added a lone tally in the 3rd to drop the Bolts 5-1 at Homer Stryker Field Friday night. Righty Josh Beshears angled through 7 innings and two-thirds for his 12th victory of the year.
Kalamazoo had a runner at first with 2 down in the 1st against Windy City southpaw Sam Jansen. Tim Brown slapped his 28th double of the year to push Daryl Blaze across and Justin McClain followed with a single to score Brown.
In the 3rd, Doug Schutt jumped on a 2-0 Beshears pitch for his 6th homer of the year with Windy City. That made the total 2-1.
In the home half, Trevor Brown chased his brother Tim across the dish to recapture the lead of 2. The scoring ceased after a 2-run 4th for the Kings. Nick Rogers and Blaze served up RBI knocks against Bolts reliever Wes Mindingall to create the final scoring plays of the game.
Beshears K'd 11 ThunderBolts in the victory. He's tossed 21 innings and two-thirds versus Windy City this season and surrendered 2 earned runs. The Bolts clawed out 4 multi-hit games. Schutt, Clemente Bonilla, Nate Whitney and Donnie Poles each did so.
The ThunderBolts try to avert the series sweep tomorrow behind Josh Glynn's right hand. He last threw 9 days ago against Florence. The righty is 1-0 against the Kings this season. You can find every pitch on your computer at www.sportsjuice.com starting at 6:35.
