Chihuahuas Open Game up Late

The El Paso Chihuahuas hit four singles in the top of the ninth inning to break a late tie and beat the Sacramento River Cats 4-1 Sunday afternoon at Raley Field. The Chihuahuas and River Cats split the four-game series.

Cal Quantrill pitched well in his second Triple-A game, allowing only one run in six innings. Quantrill has a 2.25 ERA through his two starts with El Paso. Forrestt Allday and Shane Peterson had two hits each for the Chihuahuas on Sunday.

Eric Yardley threw two scoreless relief innings leading up to El Paso's ninth-inning rally. Rowan Wick picked up his second save in as many games for the Chihuahuas. There were only 12 combined runs in the low-scoring four-game series.
