Chihuahuas Fall 8-2 Friday in Round Rock

The Round Rock Express beat the El Paso Chihuahuas 8-2 Friday night for their third consecutive win after the Chihuahuas won the series opener.

The Chihuahuas' runs came on an RBI single in the top of the second inning by catcher Rodolfo Duran and a Round Rock error after Trenton Brooks' single in the top of the third. Duran went 2-for-4 and has multiple hits in each of his last three starts. Brooks also had two hits and he's reached base multiple times in five of his last seven games. Brooks extended his on-base streak to 12 games and second baseman Clay Dungan had two hits to move his on-base streak to 11 games.

San Diego Padres pitcher Bryan Hoeing threw 1.2 scoreless innings in the longest outing of his MLB Injury Rehab assignment with El Paso. Padres outfielder Jason Heyward went 0-for-4 as the designated hitter in his first MLB Injury Rehab game with the Chihuahuas. There was a 24-minute rain delay in the top of the ninth inning Friday.
