El Paso Chihuahuas News Release
EL PASO - April 23, 2015 - On April 27th and in honor of Military Monday at Southwest University Park, the Chihuahuas will recognize their new Community Engagement Teammates, the 3-6 Cavalry at Fort Bliss. Formerly the 1st of the 501st Aviation Brigade, "Heavy Cav" and the Chihuahuas look to team up and better the El Paso community through community service.
"It's an honor to work alongside the men and women that serve and protect our country to positively impact our community," said Brad Taylor, El Paso Chihuahuas general manager.
The teammates paired up for the first time in December of 2014 to assist the Salvation Army during the Red Kettle Campaign. With the launch of the Chihuahuas Volunteer Pack, the Chihuahuas, alongside Heavy Cav, look to create a team that gives back to the Sun City and surrounding region.
"The entire 3-6 CAV team is excited to team with the El Paso Chihuahuas and volunteer within the El Paso community," said Lieutenant Colonel RJ Garcia. "Volunteering in the community helps Soldiers and Army Families give back to the community, meet new people, and ease the transition between frequent moves. We look forward to doing it alongside the El Paso Chihuahuas."
The Chihuahuas would like to welcome all Military personnel to Southwest University Park on any Monday during the season to receive the Military Monday special rate of a $10 ticket in Zone E, presented by Power 102.1 and KHEY Country.
