Ogden Raptors News Release

Ogden Raptors first baseman Justin Chigbogu and designated hitter Julian Leon each hit two-run home runs in a 10-5 win over the Idaho Falls Chukars Wednesday night at Lindquist Field.

In the first inning, with the Raptors trailing 2-0 after a two-run homer by Ryan O'Hearn, Colin Hering doubled with one out. Chigbogu followed with a line-drive home run to left field, his second of the season, tying the game 2-2.

Leon hit his home run, in the seventh inning after a walk to Chigbogu. For the Raptors DH, it was his first of his season and put the Raptors ahead 9-3.

The Raptors got out to a big lead in the second. Hunter Redman, in his first professional start, was hit by a pitch to start the inning. Jimmy Allen, Devan Ahart and Colin Hering followed with consecutive singles to score three runs. Hering came around as well after a couple of wild pitches to put the Raptors on top 6-2.

Abdiel Velasquez earned his first win with a quality start. In six innings, the right-hander allowed three runs, two earned, on six hits with three strikeouts.

Lenix Osuna provided two shutout innings of relief to keep Idaho Falls at bay.

The Raptors and Chukars will meet again in Idaho Falls for a four-game series at Melaleuca Field, starting Thursday. Pioneer League Pitcher of the Week Jose De Leon will take the mound for Ogden against Torey Deshazier. Game starts at 7:15 and can be heard on 97.5 The Zone.
