Idaho Falls Chukars News Release

OGDEN, UT -- Ryan O'Hearn crushed a home run in the first inning to get the Chukars on the board 2-0. Ogden wasted no time answering the blast, setting the tone for a 10-5 win to finish the portion of the seven game series at Lindquist Field.

The Chukars (7-10) took the lead with O'Hearn's two run homer, but his opposite first baseman and number three hitter Justin Chigbogu hit his own two run home run in the bottom half of the frame. The Raptors (6-11) kept on the pressure in the second inning. Bryan Brickhouse (0-2) started the inning, but couldn't record an out. The first five base runners reached, including a Colin Hering two run single. Cruz Guevara came on to finish the frame, but not before four runs scored on three hits.

Idaho Falls never mounted another big threat until the game was out of reach in the ninth. The Chukars stranded exactly one baserunner in each of the nine innings. Through eight innings, the Greybirds had seven hits. Five of them came from the Ryan O'Hearn, Robert Pehl duo in the three and four spot respectively. Pehl notched his second game of the season with at least three hits.

Ogden tallied three more of their runs in the seventh inning, two thanks to the home run by Julian Leon. The Raptors had gone nine straight games without a home run before tonight. The squad only had four longballs entering the game.

Idaho Falls continues the seven game series against Ogden tomorrow. The scene shifts to Melaleuca Field for the next four games. Torey Deshazier is slated to start for the Chukars, against Jose De Leon.
