Chiefs Host Portland Winterhawks in First Regular Season Match-Up Sunday Night

Spokane, Wash. - The Spokane Chiefs host the Portland Winterhawks for the first time of the regular season Sunday night at 5:05 p.m. It's Neurodiversity Awareness Night, as the show will take a softer approach in an effort to provide a more enjoyable experience for the neurodiverse community. 17-year-old forward Kooper Gizowski leads the team in scoring, with six points (1G-5A) in three games. The Edmonton native is already just two points away from his 2021-22 season total (4G-4A). Mac Gross, Raegan Wiles, Chase Bertholet, Berkly Catton, Ty Cheveldayoff and Saige Weinstein all have three points apiece over the first four games of the season, with Gross leading the way in goals (3).

The Chiefs' 2022 CHL Import Draft pick, Tommaso De Luca (ITA), got off to a hot start by scoring his first WHL career goal in his league debut on September 23 in Victoria. He followed that up with a pair of assists in the next game and one assist in Saturday's home opener.
