NEWS & NOTES:
Cowtown Bound: It was a tough 5-3 loss for the Wheat Kings last Friday over the Saskatoon Blades. This afternoon they take on another talented club, the Calgary Hitmen. The Hitmen, like the Blades, have NHL draft picks on their roster but at the same time have a solid foundation of young prospects.
Saying Farewell: The Wheat Kings had to make a difficult decision over the weekend saying goodbye to longtime forward Riley Ginnell. Ginnell was the casualty of having too many 2002 born players on the roster. The Wheat Kings want to wish Riley all the best with his future endeavors.
Road Trippin: This is the first of 8 games on the road for the Brandon Wheat Kings.
This afternoon's game will begin at 2:00pm CST with the Q Country 91.5 broadcast beginning at 1:45pm CST. Just a reminder that Six and Twelve game ticket packs are now on sale.
