Americans Down Oil Kings 7-1 in Home Opener

Tri-City Americans News Release
The Americans opened the home portion of their 2022-23 season today against the Edmonton Oil Kings. Tri-City's offense was hot from the start as the Americans earned a 7-1 victory.
Six different players scored goals: Ferguson, Ernst, Sloan, Gavin (2), Belton, and Bell.
15-year-old Jordan Gavin led scoring with two goals and two assists, his first WHL game with more than two points. Lukas Dragicevic also had his first WHL four-point game with four assists.
Tri-City held Edmonton scoreless until Vojtech Port netted their lone goal of the night six minutes into the second period.
Tomas Suchanek played the full game in net for the Americans. He turned aside 32 of 33 shots faced to earn his second victory of the season.
The Americans will play at home again on Wednesday as they take on another Central Division opponent, the Medicine Hat Tigers.
