Chiefs Host Kamloops Blazers in Home Opener Saturday

Spokane, Wash. - The Spokane Chiefs host the Kamloops Blazers in their 2022-23 home opener at Spokane Arena on Saturday, October 1. The teams last faced each other in the 2022 WHL Playoffs in April, with the Blazers coming away with a 4-0 series win.

The Chiefs enter the weekend at 2-0-0-0 after defeating the Victoria Royals on the road in back-to-back match-ups opening weekend.

Second-year forward Kooper Gizowski leads the team in scoring so far with one goal and four assists. 20-year-old defenseman Mac Gross already has three goals, which ties his total for last season. Forwards Chase Bertholet, Ty Cheveldayoff and Tommaso De Luca also all have three points on one goal and two assists apiece.
