A 27 save performance by goaltender Daniel Hauser backstopped the Winnipeg ICE to a 5-0 victory over the Swift Current Broncos Friday night.

Hauser made 13 saves in the first period, nine in the second and five more in the third for his ninth career WHL shutout.

Zach Benson's first of two goals on the night proved to be the game winner at 14:38 of the first period. Owen Pederson, Connor McClennon and Evan Friesen also scored as the ICE enjoyed a 2-0 lead after the opening period and a 3-0 advantage through 40 minutes.

McClennon finished the game with four points and now sits one shy of 200 WHL career points.

Winnipeg finished the game 3/7 on the power play while the Broncos went 0/4. Friesen's goal was scored shorthanded.

Gage Alexander, in his first game back from Anaheim Ducks Training Camp, suffered the loss in goal for the Broncos making 18 saves.

The ICE conclude their three game road trip tomorrow (Saturday) in Medicine Hat (7:30 on CFRW 1290).
