Prince George Cougars News Release

PRINCE GEORGE BC - 11 Prince George Cougars were able to record a point tonight to lead the Cats to a 6-3 victory over the Kelowna Rockets on Friday night at CN Centre.

The Rockets got the scoring started in the latter half of the opening stanza, but the Cougars were able to pounce back. Two goals in a span of 16 seconds on the power-play from Ethan Samson and Hudson Thornton put PG ahead 2-1 after the opening 20.

In the second, it was more offensive from the home side. Goals from Thornton, Fischer O'Brien, Noah Boyko, and Riley Heidt put Prince George ahead by a 6-1 count after 40 minutes.

The Rockets were able to limit the Cougars to just two shots in the third stanza and got goals from Jake Poole and Riley Kovacevic. That was all the scoring though, as it was the Cougars skating to a 6-3 victory over Kelowna.
