KENNEWICK, WA - The Spokane Chiefs erased a 3-0 third period deficit to defeat the Red Deer Rebels 5-3 in pre-season action on Saturday.
The Rebels took a 1-0 lead in the first period on a power play goal by Austin Pratt.
In the second period, the Rebels extended the lead to 2-0 when Josh Mahura scored, again on the power play.
In the third period the Rebels got another power play goal, this time it was Grayson Pawlenchuk. The Chiefs then scored five straight goals, four of them on the man advantage.
Trevor Martin went the distance in goal for Red Deer making 27 saves.
Red Deer was 3 for 4 on the power play and killed 2 of 6 shorthanded situations. The Rebels went 1-1-0 in the weekend games.
