Vancouver Giants News Release

Victoria, B.C. - The Vancouver Giants lost for the first time in the exhibition campiagn, falling 4-1 to the Victoria Royals on Sunday afternoon at the Save-On-Foods Memorial Centre. Brennan Menell had the lone goal for the G-Men in the losing cause.

Neither team found the net in the first period, and Menell broke the deadlock in the middle frame when he scored shorthanded, beating Victoria goalie Coleman Vollrath glove side after a pretty setup from Jackson Houck. However, the Royals tied the game before the end of the period when Brayden Pachal beat David Tendeck from the high slot.

The Royals added three goals in the third period to clinch the win as Vladimir Bobylev, Ryan Peckford and Logan Fisher all found the net.

Ryan Kubic started the game in goal for Vancouver and stopped all 12 shots he faced. David Tendeck came in midway through the contest and made seven saves on 11 shots.

The Giants will return to action on Friday when they host the Kelowna Rockets at the Langley Events Centre! Face-off is set for 7:00pm.
