Spokane Chiefs News Release

Kennewick, Wash. - Despite outshooting their rival 39-33, the Spokane Chiefs struggled to generate any offense against the Tri-City Americans Saturday night, falling 3-0.

The Americans ran the show in the opening frame, scoring the only two goals of the period - first at 4:45 from Deagan McMillan and then at 16:03 from Marc Lajoie. It was also the only period they outshot Spokane, 11-8.

The Chiefs turned starting in the second period, tilting the shots in their favor for the rest of the game (31-22), but were unable to find the twine.

Tri-City's Jordan Gavin tacked on an empty-netter with just 39 seconds left in the game to seal the Americans' 3-0 shutout victory.

Dawson Cowan got the start in net for Spokane and turned aside 30-of-32 shots faced. Related Links
