ICE Represented at Canada Winter Games

The Winnipeg ICE would like to congratulate and send best wishes to prospects Ayden Collins and Justin Perreault along with current Assistant Coaches Taras McEwen, Byron Spriggs and Assistant Equipment Manager CJ Butcher as they represent Team Manitoba at the Canada Winter Games in Prince Edward Island.

Collins, a 15 year old defenceman from Winnipeg, has appeared in 24 games with the RINK Hockey Academy U16 team registering 12 points (one goal and 11 assists) along with 56 penalty minutes.

He was selected by the ICE in the eighth round, 165th overall in the 2022 WHL Prospects Draft.

Perreault, a 15 year old goaltender from Winnipeg, has appeared in 21 games with the Winnipeg Bruins of the Manitoba U18 AAA Hockey League registering a 16-4 record, 3.10 goals against average, .873 save percentage and two shutouts.

He was selected by the ICE in the 12th round, 264th overall in the 2022 WHL Prospects Draft.

McEwen, Team Manitoba's Head Coach, is in his first season as an Assistant Coach and sixth season with the ICE organization. The Whitewood, Saskatchewan product joined the ICE organization in 2017 in the role of Manager of Scouting. He has also served as General Manager of the Winnipeg Blues in the MJHL and added Head Coach to his resume in 2020. Prior to joining the ICE, McEwen served as an Assistant Coach with the SJHL's Notre Dame Hounds during the 2016-2017 season.

Spriggs, Team Manitoba's goaltending coach, is in his third season as an Assistant Coach, goaltender development lead with the ICE. The Winnipeg product is Bison alumni, having backstopped their program for five seasons. In three of those seasons, he was named the Bison's most valuable player. Spriggs also played three seasons for the MJHL's Winnipeg Blues, winning a league championship and was named playoff MVP in 2014. Spriggs was recently named as a goalie consultant working with Hockey Canada's U17 Men's Teams.

Butcher, Team Manitoba's Equipment Manager, is in his second season as Assistant Equipment Manager with the ICE.

Team Manitoba opens round robin play today against Quebec.

The ICE continue their 10 game road trip tomorrow in Swift Current (3:30 on CFRW 1290 AM / 4:00 on WHL Live via CHL TV).

Any full season season seat holder confirmed prior to the March 1 early bird deadline will also receive 10 additional buddy tickets (over $250 in additional value) to bring friends and family to games at no additional charge during the 2023-24 regular season in addition to the return of additional season seat holder benefits.

If you purchase your season tickets during the 2022-2023 season or if you purchase for the 2023-2024 season prior to March 1, 2023 you will be able to save up to 30% on playoff tickets (if applicable).
