
Wheat Kings Playoff Push Continues with Win in Swift Current

SWIFT CURRENT S.K - The Brandon Wheat Kings stellar start leads to a 3-1 victory in Swift Current Saturday night.
The Wheat Kings started out with a bang in the opening period, first it was Calder Anderson finding Nate Danielson on the powerplay to give the Wheat Kings an early 1-0 lead. Then only 1:44 later, Nolan Ritchie would find Calder Anderson in the slot who escaped a Owen Pickering check to beat Broncos goaltender Joey Rocha to give the Wheat Kings a 2-0 lead after one.
The Wheat Kings would go on the powerplay at the midway mark of period two. During the powerplay the Wheat Kings would cough up the puck at the blue line allowing Josh Davies to take off on a breakaway, Carson Bjarnason made the first stop but Drew Englot would tap in the rebound to cut the Wheat Kings lead in half. Only 29 seconds later, during the exact same powerplay, Nolan Flamand would score to restore the two goal lead for the Wheat Kings heading into the third period.
The Wheat Kings would shut it down in the 3rd period not allowing a single Broncos goal the rest of the way to win 3-1.

The Wheat Kings are back in action on Holiday Monday (Family Day) when they host the Prince Albert Raiders. Puck drop at 2:30pm from Westoba Place in Brandon.
