
Chicago Fire Midfielder Cristian Martinez Called up to U-22 Panama National Team

BRIDGEVIEW, Ill. - The Chicago Fire Soccer Club announced today that midfielder Cristian Martinez has been called up to the U-22 Panama National Team for a pair of pre-Olympic qualifying matches against El Salvador.
Martinez, 22, will join Panama's U-22 side for a home match against El Salvador on Wednesday, July 17. Beginning at 8:00 p.m. CT, the match will take place at Rommel Fernández Stadium in Panama City, Panama. Four days later, Panama will travel to face El Salvador on Sunday, July 21. Scheduled to begin at 4:15 p.m. CT, the July 21 match will occur at Estadio Cuscatlán in San Salvador, El Salvador.
Martinez made his international debut for Panama's senior team on Feb. 18, 2016, featuring in a 1-0 win over El Salvador. Since making his debut, Martinez has earned six additional caps for Panama's senior team. The midfielder has also competed at the U-20 level for Panama, earning five appearances (five starts) in the 2017 Concacaf U-20 Championship.
