(Manchester, NH) - The Fisher Cats scored three runs in the sixth inning and one in the eighth, holding on for a 4-3 victory over the Portland Sea Dogs on Friday night at Merchantsauto.com Stadium. New Hampshire has won both games of the series, and leads the Sea Dogs by three games in the Eastern League's Eastern Division.

Fisher Cats' lefty Luis Perez (4-2) tossed seven strong innings on four hits and one run to earn the victory. Portland grabbed a 1-0 lead off Perez in the sixth inning with one out. Ryan Kalish reached on an infield single, and scored a double by Luis Exposito.

New Hampshire came right back in the bottom of the sixth inning off reliever Eammon Portice. Brian Jeroloman led off the inning with a walk, and Jonathan Diaz was hit-by-a-pitch. Darin Mastroianni moved up the runners with sac-bunt, and Adam Calderone provided the go-ahead RBI with a two-run double. Eric Thames capped off the three-run frame with a run-scoring single to center field. Portice (3-2) took the loss for Portland, allowing three runs and three hits over two innings.

Portland starter Kyle Weiland hurled his third consecutive scoreless outing. Weiland blanked the 'Cats over five innings on two hits, one walk and three strikeouts. The righty has a team-high 13 consecutive scoreless innings.

In the top of the ninth, the Sea Dogs got within a run. With two outs, Jose Iglesias singled to left, and Chih-Hsien Chiang homered to left-center field off of Fisher Cats' closer, Danny Farquhar. Unfortunately for the visitors, Juan Apodaca was unable to keep the rally alive, bouncing out to Farquhar to end the game. Despite allowing the two runs, Farquhar was able to record his tenth save of the season.

Portland and New Hampshire will play game three of their four-game series on Saturday night at 7:05. On the mound, it will be a battle of two highly-touted prospects, as Casey Kelly (0-2, 3.48) goes up against Kyle Drabek (4-3, 3.60).
