Checkers with the Checkers Charity Event Set for January 13

CHARLOTTE, NC - The Charlotte Checkers and 106.5 The END will hold a "Checkers with the Checkers" tournament and charity event Friday, Jan. 13 at 6 p.m. at Buffalo Wild Wings at the NASCAR Hall of Fame.

Fans can compete in a bracket-style Checkers tournament for the chance to be crowned King/Queen of the inaugural competition and will have the chance to play against their favorite players.

In addition to the tournament, there will be a silent auction, raffle prizes, trivia, games and appearances by Wilson, 106.5 The END personalities, the CheckMates and Chubby.

Registration for the tournament will be $10 and 100% of the proceeds from the competition and silent auction will go to the Children's Organ Transplant Association (COTA) through Hayden's Hope, a local extension of the life-saving transplant, non-profit organization.

The Checkers head to Illinois for a two-game set this weekend before returning to Charlotte Tuesday, Jan. 3 and Wednesday, Jan. 4 to host the San Antonio Rampage.
