Forward Krys Kolanos sprung Rheault on a breakaway. The Heat forward was initially stopped by Texas goalie Jimmy Spratt, but the rebound rolled in over the goal-line prior to the whistle, tying the game 1-1.
After a scoreless second period, Lance Bouma scored his third goal of the year at 5:32 of the third period, giving the Heat a 2-1 lead. Bouma put in a rebound off his own shot, giving Abbotsford the win.
