HERSHEY, Pa. - The HERSHEY BEARS announced today that the club has assigned defenseman Brett Flemming and forward Maxime Lacroix to the South Carolina Stingrays (ECHL). The announcements were made by BEARS President/GM Doug Yingst.
Lacroix, 24, has appeared in 19 games with the BEARS this season, recording two assists and eight penalty minutes. He began the season with the Stingrays, posting three assists in two games.
Lacroix spent most of 2009-10 in HERSHEY, putting up 16 points (6G, 10A) in 57 games. In parts of three seasons with the BEARS, Lacroix has posted seven goals and 12 assists in 82 games.
The 6-0, 190-lb. center also helped the Cincinnati Cyclones to the 2010 Kelly Cup Championship, pitching in 12 points in 19 postseason contests. In his first professional season one year earlier, Lacroix finished second on the Stingrays in scoring, putting up 64 points (33G, 31A) in 63 games. He played four junior seasons with the Quebec Remparts (QMJHL), finishing with 83 goals and 93 assists in 254 career games.
Lacroix was selected by the Capitals in the fifth round (127th overall) of the 2006 NHL Entry Draft.
Flemming, 20, made his AHL debut on October 7 against the Binghamton Senators, and scored his first AHL points (one goal, one assist) on October 14 against the Norfolk Admirals. The 5-11, 184-lb. native of Regina, SK has a total of four points (2G, 2A) in 21 games with HERSHEY.
Flemming appeared in 147 games in his junior career with the Mississauga St. Michael's Majors (OHL), totaling 105 points (9G, 96A) and 288 penalty minutes.
