Charlotte Checkers News Release
CHARLOTTE, N.C. - Derek Wilkinson, head coach and general manager of the Charlotte Checkers, announced the team's roster for this weekend's preseason games against the Columbia Inferno.
The Checkers roster is set at 20; however, the team will be without rookie-goaltender Bernd Bruckler who is currently on loan to the Hartford Wolf Pack - Charlotte's AHL affiliate. The Wolf Pack signed Bruckler to a professional tryout agreement on Wednesday.
The Checkers released forward Gerad Cioffi and goalie Pat Berrigan who will both return to the Jacksonville Barracudas of the SPHL. The team also released forward Brian Teixeira earlier this week.
