Augusta Lynx News Release

The Augusta Lynx are proud to announce that they have helped raise over $1,000 for the Salvation Army's local relief efforts through this Tuesday's Black and Blue scrimmage.

In partnering with the Salvation Army, the Lynx continue their tradition of giving back to the community and encouraging their fans to remain an active part of the CSRA's tightest-knit family. All donations from the game, as well as proceeds from the halftime chuck-a-puck contest, were presented to the Salvation Army.

"When you live in a great community like the CSRA, you have to do your part to ensure that stays healthy and vibrant," said Ben Lesshafft, Lynx director of game night operations and community relations. "Working with the Salvation Army shows how many people are active behind the scenes, never getting the credit they deserve despite their hard work. We just want to say thank you to each and every one of them."

The Lynx will kick off their pre-season schedule with their only home contest tonight against the Greenville Grrrowl at 7 pm. The game will be held at the Augusta Ice Sports Center, with tickets priced at $5 and available at the door or by calling 863-0061. All proceeds from the game will go to benefit Augusta area youth hockey.
