Charlotte Checkers News Release

(Charlotte, NC - Tuesday, March 2) The Charlotte Checkers announce today that the scheduled February 26 game versus the Greensboro Generals that was postponed, has been rescheduled for Monday, March 22nd at 7:00 p.m. at the Greensboro Coliseum. The game had been postponed due to last week's winter storm that prevented the Checkers from being able to safely travel to Greensboro. The move is announced today by Checkers interim Head Coach and General Manager, Derek Wilkinson.

"After looking at our schedules, this date seemed to be the best for both the Generals and us," remarked Wilkinson.

Charlotte is on a three-game winning streak after three road victories last week, including a 6-5 triumph in its last game Saturday at Greensboro. The Checkers are tied with the South Carolina Stingrays for fourth place in the ECHL's Southern Division, the final playoff spot in the division, with 65 points, Charlotte will get back to action on Friday, March 5 when it host the Dayton Bombers at Cricket Arena at 7:30 p.m. on "Pucks & Prayers" night.
